2022 Transition & Career Planning Conference Planned for May 12

Keynote to Focus on Supporting Students Future Planning

College and career access professionals are invited to attend this year's transition and career planning professional development opportunity on Thursday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The theme this year's online conference is "Deliberately Developmental: Thinking Like a Developmentalist to Support Students' Future Planning."

The keynote speaker, Dr. Mandy Savitz-Romer, is a lecturer at Harvard University and author of "Fulfilling the Promise: Reimagining School Counseling to Advance Student Success" and "Ready, Willing, and Able: A Developmental Approach to College Access and Success."

Dr. Savitz-Romer will address informed practices for supporting post-secondary planning with attention to the current educational landscape.

Attendees will have the option to join live via Zoom on May 12 to attend the keynote and participate in a follow-up facilitated discussion, or register to receive the keynote recording and a facilitator's guide to use for in-house professional development through Sept. 30, 2022.

All live attendees will also have access to the recording and facilitator's guide following the event.

This event is presented by Vermont State GEAR UP, Vermont HireAbility, Vermont School Counselor Association, and the J. Warren and Lois McClure Foundation.
