VSAC loans as low as 4.79% APR

VSAC is proud to announce our student loan rates for 2019-2020 school year: as low as 4.79% APRour lowest fixed rate ever.

If you’re like most students, you’ll probably need to borrow to fund your college or training. Let’s face it: Loans can be confusing, and because a loan is money you have to pay back with interest, it’s critical that you understand your choices.

We want you to know more so you borrow less.

There are many student loan options available, with different rates, repayment options and benefits. But what does it all mean, and how do you really know which loan is better than the next? We believe that by understanding how to compare loans, you can borrow more confidently and borrow only the amount you really need.

To save money in the future, take the time to compare student loans before you borrow. A few minutes now will go a long way toward making a good choice about a loan that may be with you for 10 or 15 years. Our goal: To help you minimize your cost of borrowing, reducing the total amount you'll ultimately have to repay.

Compare VSAC’s new student loan and parent loan rates.

Our rates for academic year 2019-2020 are lower than the federal PLUS and competitive with other lenders. Your interest rate is based on the repayment plan you choose, and an origination fee based on your credit rating. Borrowers with excellent credit pay no origination fee. Be sure to compare our rates and fees with the actual rate other lenders offer you, not just their advertised rates which often include low “teaser rates” very few borrows qualify to receive.

Students and families can take advantage of VSAC’s new low rates now. VSAC education loans can be used for undergraduate or graduate/professional studies by Vermont residents going to programs anywhere in the U.S. or internationally AND for students coming to Vermont.

“VSAC is Vermont’s nonprofit public agency dedicated to working for students and families,” said Scott Giles, president and CEO. “We make sure they have the information, the counseling and the financial aid to achieve their education goals. Our financial aid programs attract national recognition, and our loan programs and loan forgiveness programs are saving borrowers thousands of dollars in interest.”
